FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

Quick answers about product selection, documents and enquiries.

How can I find a suitable product?

Start with a product family or application, then review the selection considerations. Use the site search or material filters when you know the fluid or membrane type.

Can I choose a product by pore rating alone?

Please also provide fluid composition, flow, temperature, pressure, connections and intended use. Specific models and available configurations require confirmation.

How do I request selection support?

Open Contact, enter your conditions and generate an application brief. Download it or open the prefilled email draft, then review and send it to sales@auzrsystem.com.

Can I request a product data sheet?

Series pages include model specifications and downloadable technical literature. The resource centre also provides PDF excerpts by catalogue. Contact us for current controlled data sheets and ordering configurations.

How should I compare liquid and gas ratings?

Compare fluid, test method and operating conditions separately. Gas ratings do not directly establish liquid-filtration performance.

How is material compatibility assessed?

Provide composition, concentration, temperature, contact time and cleaning conditions. Review all wetted components, including media, structural parts and seals.

Membrane selection: compatibility, recovery and wetting

Can one membrane cover every solvent?

No. Assess the complete filter against the actual mixture, temperature and exposure time.

Does low binding mean no loss?

No. Hold-up volume, container surfaces and the actual analyte also affect recovery.

Cartridge, capsule or bag: choose the service format

Is a capsule inherently sterile?

No. Sterilization status, packaging and intended use must be documented for its configuration.

Can a bag directly replace a membrane cartridge?

Compare retention requirements, test methods and system fit first; shape or price alone is insufficient.

Liquid and gas filtration: why ratings are not interchangeable

Will a hydrophobic membrane remain dry in every gas line?

No. Condensation, droplets and fluid composition require system-level control.

Can a gas filter resume service immediately after a water rinse?

Permitted rinsing and recovery procedures depend on the specific product and validated process.

Laboratory recovery: build a mass balance

Does recovery above 100% mean better filtration?

First investigate volume, dilution, calibration, matrix effects and sample homogeneity.

Should the first fraction always be discarded?

No. The analytical method and fraction study should determine that step and account for the loss.

Sterilizing filtration: from product evidence to process validation

Does a passing bubble-point result prove sterile filtrate?

No. Interpret it within the validated process, protected boundary and complete quality record.

Can validation transfer to another brand with the same polymer?

Polymer identity alone is insufficient; assess construction, test correlation and process evidence.

Media and buffer filtration: protect formulation and capacity

Does visually clear fluid eliminate the need for a capacity trial?

No. Invisible components and formulation differences can affect fouling and recovery.

Can a small successful run alone determine production area?

No. Evaluate area loading, flux, batch duration and scale-dependent flow-path differences.

Tangential flow filtration: concentration and buffer exchange

Is the highest-flux condition always best?

No. Evaluate target stability, recovery, pressure demand and total processing time.

Does a listed UF module automatically suit protein TFF?

No. Water-treatment UF and bioprocess TFF require application-specific constructions and evidence.

UF and MBR: identify the role of the membrane

Can an MBR membrane replace the biological process?

No. Solids separation and biological degradation have different roles in the complete treatment train.

Does more membrane area guarantee more output?

No. Feed supply, aeration, pumps, pipework and recovery capacity can limit production.

Installation and start-up: establish a repeatable baseline

Should low start-up flow be corrected by raising pressure?

First check valves, wetting, venting, direction and line condition within assembly limits.

Can a leaking connection be tightened during operation?

Do not treat that as a general remedy. Follow controlled shutdown, isolation and depressurization procedures.

Pressure and flow troubleshooting: identify the pattern first

Does low differential pressure prove there is no blockage?

No. Lower flow can also reduce pressure drop; assess flow and system state together.

What if the same issue remains after replacement?

Review fluid, system, instrument and operating changes before repeatedly replacing filters.

Clean or replace: decide from reuse qualification and evidence

Is a visibly clean filter ready for reuse?

No. Appearance cannot establish retention, chemical residuals or microbial suitability.

Can cleaning extend the life of every cartridge?

No. Regeneration eligibility depends on design, controlled instructions and process validation.

Reading a data sheet: put each number back in context

Does a series image show every listed option?

No. Confirm the ordered configuration against its specific drawing.

Can an omitted property be inferred from another model?

Not as a published performance claim. Treat it as a selection hypothesis requiring confirmation.
