Process & filtration objectives
New-energy manufacturing does not involve one universal filtration duty. Battery electrode slurries must retain active materials and conductive ingredients, while photovoltaic wet processes focus on particles in chemicals and process water.
For slurry, the targets are abnormal agglomerates and foreign contamination. For process liquids, wetted compatibility and cleanliness are central. Distinguish these applications before comparing filter structures, throughput and maintenance arrangements.
Typical process pathway
- 01
Define the operation
List electrode slurry, cleaning fluid, photovoltaic chemicals and utility water separately, with distinct assessment metrics.
- 02
Slurry mixing and transfer
Track solids, viscosity and the oversized particle tail to identify changes during mixing and storage.
- 03
Coating supply
Observe flow behavior and coating appearance after filtration, alongside ingredient retention and trapped material volume.
- 04
Wet processes and utilities
Review chemical concentration, temperature and all wetted materials independently, placing particle control at defined locations.
This is a typical task pathway. Confirm sequence, equipment and operating conditions for the project.
Filtration points & selection rationale
| Process point | Filtration task | Selection rationale |
|---|---|---|
| Electrode slurry transfer | Limit abnormal agglomerates and foreign matter | Track useful ingredient passage and differential pressure together. |
| Before coating | Manage the liquid delivered to coating equipment | Consider rheology, bubbles and material retained during replacement. |
| Photovoltaic cleaning | Control particles in process liquids | Review the chemical environment, cleanliness and piping compatibility. |
Verification & operating records
| Evaluation item | Recording & comparison |
|---|---|
| Material balance | Compare solids and formulation properties before and after filtration, including material retained by the assembly. |
| Coating observations | Link streaks, particle spots and thickness changes to slurry batch and filter operating condition. |
| Operating load | Record flow and differential pressure under the actual viscosity conditions, separating temperature effects from clogging. |
Application questions
Can a water flow curve predict electrode-slurry performance?
No. High solids and rheology alter pressure loss and flow. Water data apply to their stated test conditions.
Can one series cover every new-energy operation?
That cannot be assumed. Slurry, corrosive process liquids and water systems have different materials, loading and quality objectives.
